Everyone loves tiramisu. Who doesn’t? But the mascarpone cheese we use to make authentic tiramisu can be very expensive. So my sister and I came up with an idea to make tiramisu from commercial vanilla ice cream. Here’s how to do it:
Ingredients:
- Commercial vanilla ice cream
- 1 package of lady’s finger’s biscuits
- 1 cup espresso coffee, add some rum or your favorite liquor
Method:
1. Sprinkle the lady’s fingers with the espresso. Wait for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, soften the ice cream a bit.
2. In a large bowl or other container, layer the bottom with the lady’s fingers. Spread a layer of ice cream on top, layer again with the lady’s fingers, and so on.
3. Top with grated chocolate if you want or sprinkle with cocoa powder.
4. Return to freezer.
